  • Books on the Liturgy for the Tridentine Latin mass

The first book on the Mass that I think is a good introduction to the layman is “The Great Prayer” by Hugh Ross Williamson.  As I understand it, Mr. Williamson was once an Anglican minister that converted to Catholicism, and there is no better apologist for an organization of any kind than one who came from a similar organization and switched to the new organization due to its merits.  As for most of my suggested reading the identifying ordering information if form a recent reprint and the Imprimatur etc. are from my 1956 first printing.

The next book that is good tor read was suggested by a fellow parishioner that is basically on the origins, the history, of the mass. The name of the book is “How Christ Said the First Mass” by Father James L. Meagher, D.D. The following amazon from 2015 review speaks to the authenticity of its facts and why it is a good book to read on the origins of the mass.

This book truly gives the ancient (not modern) Jewish origin of the authentic Tridentine Latin Roman Catholic Mass.
As a former Orthodox Jew who converted to the (pre-Vatican II) Traditional Catholic Faith, I was amazed at the depth of Fr Meagher’s
knowledge of Judaism and Jewish rituals! He clearly shows how thoroughly Jewish the Tridentine Latin Mass truly is, unlike the modern novus ordo rite, which is more protestant.

The final one was really kind of recommended by my parish priest (maybe one day a bishop), in that he uses it as a reference in the catechism classes he teaches. It is very technical and is entitled “The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass: Dogmatically, Liturgically and Ascetically Explained” by Dr. Nicholas Gihr and my copy being published by the B. The books I have on the Tridentine mass fill a few bookshelves in my library, but these three are in my opinion the best start for learning the virtues as well as the technical aspects of the Tridentine Latin mass and why it is called by some the mass of all time.

  • Books on Mary

In the sequence I have laid out of books to read, the only persons explicitly named are: Jesus Christ and his mother, the Queen Mother of heaven, Mary.  Many protestant sects down play the significance of Mary, the mother of God.  Do they think that Jesus Christ will take kindly to the slighting of His mother on the last day?  We who, as we should be, are respectful of out mothers, due to the 4th commandment (Honor they father and thy mother), how much more does God the Son honor this commandment of His Father with respect also to his Virgin Mother, to the extent that he would die, one of the most excruciating death possible, because it was part of the Father’s plan for man’s salvation.  God has logically given us 2 examples for how to live our lives because in the beginning “male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).  He gave us the perfect male example in Jesus Christ and, unlike what I have read of Muslims, who consider women in the same class as animals because if one walks directly in front of you while praying, as with a dog, or a donkey your prayers are invalidated, He also gave human females a perfect example in the Blessed Virgin Mary.  This is not to say anything our Lord does, does not form the perfect example also to women, it merely means that to have a clearer example in things exclusive to women, Mary most easily and in context shows the example (i.e. being a good wife, being a good daughter, being a good female consecrated virgin).

The first book is possibly the best compilation of essays on the Blessed Virgin compiled by one of my favorite authors – Frank Sheed, and is entitled “The Mary Book” published by Sheed and Ward. It is from this book that I gleamed the emphasis in the other books in this list from its Assembler’s Note and decided to buy them.

To complete the set of books that are good to read, in my opinion, on the virgin Mary is one on the technical level, one on Mariology. Mariology is that part of Dogmatic Theology which treats  of the Blessed Virgin Mary , the Mother of our Divine Redemer. The book is entitled “Mariology” by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Pohle, Ph.D., D.D.. The questions concerning the Blessed Virgin are so complex and mixed with emotion I have only included books with official approbations. The mother of our Lord is deserving of much love, in that her assent was responsible for our Lord’s coming, but absolutely not more than our Lord himself.

  • Some Thoughts on Modernist, Their Motivation, the “Rightness” of the Traditional Latin mass and the Utility of Memorized Prayers Especially for Young Children

The Modernist, probably most of whom are freemasons (see the books 1. Operation Gladio: The Unholy Alliance between the Vatican, the CIA, and the Mafia by Paul L. Williams, 2. The Broken Cross by Piers Compton 3. Infiltration by Taylor Marshall); or Prelates mostly from the, in my opinion, corrupt German Roman Catholic episcopal hierarchy preoccupied with making things in the church “easier” to draw more people into declaring themselves “Catholic” so that the tax system in Germany can get them more money. The aptly named underground group of high-level clerics, which some feel is trying to not-so-covertly subvert the church is identified by those outside the group as the St. Gallen mafia, based on their rumored meeting location.  For more on the St. Gallen Mafia, see the book St. Gallen Mafia: Exposing the Secret Reformist Group Within the Church by Julia Meloni.

The confusion caused on the surface level of radically changing the liturgy, from the solemn, using the sacred language of Latin mostly silent (at least with respect to the laity assisting in the mass), leave the laity dazed and confused enough to start fighting against the traditionalist, proposing the argued superior nature of the new mass against the traditional mass where silent spiritual, meditative participation (except for the choir at a sung high mass) is the rule.  The cacophony of distractions in our world of cell phones, massive traffic, the Internet, streaming services, Tic Toc, Blogs, TV and the constant movement of international travel in some circles, in my opinion, leave only the quite meditation which we can experience only in the traditional Latin mass to regain our sense of humanity, sanity and calm.

Though it might seem counterintuitive that a one thousand five-hundred-year-old rite might hold the secret to the destruction wrought by such applications (apps) such as Tic Tok, Facebook, snap chat and Instagram, I think our Lord Jesus Christ developed it for mankind until it was mature and declared by Pope St. Pius V to be able to be able to be offered by any priest forever, to offer comfort to every generation, basically unchanged, until the end of time. Unless I am mistaken, up until Vatican II, every Catholic missal acknowledge the power of Pius V papal bull “Quo Primum,” which canonized the Tridentine Latin Mass for all time and justified any minor changes.  Vatican II mandated committees to completely re-write the mass, with even the current pope at the time pope John XXIII saying it should remain in Latin, 1) in the vernacular of various countries, 2) led by a bishop later suspected of being a mason and removed from his post in Rome to be a bishop in Southwest Asia, 3) attested by one of the priests, at least doing the English translation, to being incorrectly translated and eliminating as much as possible in the various sections things referring to the need of suffering and the existence of horrible things like hell and 4) using Protestant ministers as “expert consultants” on how to “re-write” the Holy Sacrifice of the mass.  In a majority of the Catholic population, they participate in what they call for the most part, the celebration of the mass, not the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as average Catholics and most books before the start of Vatican II referred to it as.

As in the United States government today, progressive clergy in the Catholic church have tried to push their agenda similar to the lax US boarder to make it easier for people with a hard life elsewhere to get in the US declaring (whether true or not which the old boarder policy was constructed to detect) they want asylum because of political persecution in their country or no cash bail releasing criminals immediately back on the street while waiting for their court date, with no incentive to show back up for it. For the US, the lax boarder has resulted in increased sex trafficking, thousands of fentanyl deaths and hundreds of dead from dangerous border crossings where they are left for dead in trucks etc. And for no cash bail criminals, especially for violent crimes, are re-released, only to offend again increasing the homicide rate in some big cities by 50% or greater. In the catholic church similarly, the lack of emphasis on the fact that good life entails sacrifice to help ensure the salvation of the world (both in this world and for individuals who want to follow Christ into the next world which I think Jesus Christ strongly demonstrated in his passion and death), has resulted in the priestly sexual abuses, lack of new men applying to the priesthood (i.e. new vocations), a more than 25% increase in Catholic divorces (destroying the lives of many children) and the increase of abortions as well as the use of contraceptives among Catholics .

A while ago I got into an argument about why we “Catholics” repeat prayers over and over again never making up new ones like protestants do at meals and in church.  The fact is that, in my opinion, children can learn the prayers and feel part of the catholic faith very early in that they, like the “expert” adults, can feel just as qualified to lead prayers at meals, prayers at the rosary and prayers in response to serving as alter boys at the mass and for girls as singers, in Latin in the choir, also leading prayers at meals as well as taking the lead in saying the family rosary.  Both girls and boys can, if they wish, suggest meditations for the mysteries of the rosary, when they become older or even add to the meal blessing as they get older.  In my opinion they are constantly trying to come up with new things to show they are better “Christians” than Catholics, which strikes me, and I know I am biased, as pride.       In addition to making children more confident in their faith and that they are able to do what is needed to thank an all good God, they get a feel for tradition, and are indoctrinated into a culture that does things because they are right and have been right for almost 2 millennia and are not predisposed to change things just because they can with no proven benefit. God is unchangeable and once things are perfected, as in my opinion, it was with the Tridentines mass, it should stay the same unless you can prove you can make it better.  The priestly scandals, loss of vocations and loss of faithful to me proves that the novus ordo mass to actually be worst.  Some may say that is not why we are having these problems, but these problems are uniform and universal across non-traditional catholic communities, and what has universally changed across all of Roman Catholic non-traditional communities? The answer is the mass.  In traditional communities the vocations have increased and parishes have grown.

  • Books on the Crisis in the Church Precipitated by Vatican II and Rewriting the Traditional Catholic Latin mass by a Committee Using Protestant Ministers as Experts on How it should be Rewritten

Since the opinions in most of these publications go against popular politics in the Catholic Church plus are after the Imprimatur was “in vogue,” (the Imprimatur was in vogue for about 400 years from about the time of the council of Trent to about 1968, though it existed to some extent even after that) only the last one, A Catechism of Modernism, carry an official approbation.  For an encyclical on what is possibly the root of the crisis – modernism, seen by pope Pius X, see Pascendi Dominici Gregis on the Vatican website.  Once before, in church history, during the Arian Heresy one man strongly disagreed with the proposition that Jesus Christ was not God, St. Athanasius, and his thesis that Jesus Christ was actually God eventually was accepted as Catholic, Christian Dogma.   The first distinguished Prelate to recognize the damage being done to the Church (Pope Pius X first saw it coming, implemented the oath against modernism, and kick out as many heretics as he could justify but it had not succeeded yet in being implemented, i.e. no damage had yet been done), and why, was one Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.  Like St. Athanasius, for the longest time, he stood alone among bishops.  He wrote a book entitled “An Open Letter to Confused Catholics,” highlighting the concerns he had based on the fact that the Church had seen a similar revolution, taking the same steps the conciliar church has tried to take, to unsuccessfully try to change the mass in the Catholic Church 400 years earlier with Father Martin Luther (yes once a Roman Catholic priest) in Germany and Bishop Cranmer (again also once a Roman Catholic Bishop) in England.

The next book is one that is helpful in understanding the causes, politics, theological leanings of those precipitating the crisis as well as those traditionalists resisting the novelties being introduced by those precipitating the crisis and the legality of the stance exhibited by the traditionalist resistors. The resistors stand, as I see it, on St. Paul’s words to the Hebrews in chapter 13 verses 8-9: “Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today: and the same for ever.  Be not led away with various and strange doctrines. For it is best that the heart be established with grace, not with meats: which have not profited those that walk in them.” The title of the book is “The Catechism of the Crisis in the Church” by Father Matthias Gaudron, and its identifying information is as follows:

The next few books are showing possible infiltrators of the church, namely masons, communists and insiders (read here disgruntled priests and bishops who don’t like certain “hard to sell” dogmas and doctrines and are trying to change dogma, on paper, but the Truth now is the Truth forever and cannot be changed – the Truth of the Catholic Church which is Jesus Christ) to entice more people to “join the Catholic Church” (really the locally watered down easier to follow loosely interpreted conciliar church) to be able to get more money-contributing lay people. .

The second book (Volume two) describes how the Second Vatican Council was systematically taken over by a predominately German cabal to guide the council to putting in vague phraseology along with solid dogma to later use in a preplanned way to subvert the order of the new mass.  It also talks about how in part ”.  .  . the liturgical reform had for one of its principal aims the abolition of actions and formulas of mystical signification,.  .  .” it also acknowledges the fact that “it is a logical consequence that its authors had to vindicate the use of the vernacular in divine worship. This isn the eyes of the sectarians a most important item.” (page 299 in Pope John’s Council by Michael Davies)..  The book [GB1] is entitled “Pope John’s Council” by Michael Davies.

Much of the crisis the church faces today are because of the great reliance of the words of the pope as “infallible.”  The doctrine of infallibility of the pope only applies in certain narrow instances when they pope declares he’s speaking infallibly from the seat of Peter “ex cathedra.”  Pope’s have opinions but the New Testament tells us we must believe only what is given to us in the Old Testament unless modified by the New Testament as well as all of the New Testament (Galatians 1:8).  The best way I like to sum up this line of scripture is: if someone says something opposite from what is in scripture, not necessarily if neutral or borderline, then he or she is not speaking for God.  A 2 volume set that can help the average lay person sort out what we need to know in these confusing times which I can only assume is God’s chastisement of mankind for, at least in the United States, things like the uptick in abortions, allowing so much license to criminals, allowing sex trafficking due to border laxity, allowing the poisoning of American children from fentanyl, again due to boarder laxity, increase in divorce and single parent households leading to the neglect and abuse of children etc., is “The Road from Hyperpapalism to Catholicism” by Peter A. • The Purpose of Lent and Quotes from a book entitled The Devil to Help Bring into Focus that Purpose

The purpose of lent as I understand it is repentance.  Unlike what I used to think, that free will was a gift from God, it was a curse, which mankind choose when it decided it wanted the knowledge of good and evil.  Man could have lived in blessed bliss of knowing only the good of God and the earth but decided that he wanted to be as God, eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The fact is how can one have actual free will if he or she does not even know evil?  Every man and woman has the choice of whether they want to live forever in a place where everyone is following the word and desires of God or in a place where everyone is doing only what they desire, regardless of God and everyone else with them desires.  A place of order and happiness where everyone cares, not only for themselves, but everybody else or a place where, if you desire, you can hurt each other, unfeelingly, unceasingly.

God has given us His Son – Jesus Christ, and His son’s Passion, to help us know God and if we want to spend an eternity with Him. If you believe what is said in the New Testament of the Bible (Matthew 28:20) Jesus Christ is with us always, with the Catholic Church forming his body continuously throughout the rest of time (1 Corinthians 12:17).  Fortunately, each an everyone of us is given a dedicated guardian angel to help us, at least form the time of baptism and possibly when we are born.  Unfortunately, so that we always have the free will of knowing the alternative to all our actions, God has allowed the devil to run loose in our world, and adversary we must fight, with the help of our guardian angel and thankfully our Lord Jesus Christ directly and through His One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church if we learn to pray.

The fact is, those at the very highest level of the church seemed to be infiltrated by masons, communists etc. as well as those that simply have the modernist heretical mindset.  We must remember, according to the bible, we must adhere with the orthodox dogma and doctrine of Jesus Christ, given to us through his Apostles, passed down through the ages through His Church, we must adhere with only what GOD wants us to do (Galatians 1:8).

This quote considers the importance of the question of whether The Devil exists and exactly what does he do:

“    Dear reader, what are you actually doing on earth?  You are journeying toward the house of your eternity, the door of which, at some turn of the way, death will throw open. To find in that new and final abode what your heart desires, HAPPINESS, religion, conscience, humanity, all warn you that you must “go about doing good,” as did the Man-God, our Master and our Model.  The incomparable privilege of free-will was only given you to put you in the way of doing good. Are you convinced of this? – Assuredly.  Is the practice of virtue honorable? – Evidently.  Is the practice of virtue conformable to our true interests? – undoubtedly it is; under a just and good God, to do good is the sure and only means of attaining to true happiness. This all must admit; yet how does it happen that we so often commit evil, which brings us neither happiness nor real profit?  Something or some one invites, solicits, entices us.  The way of virtue is not always smooth and pleasant.  It presents obstacles against which we may have to struggle.  The kingdom of heaven – that is to say, a happy immortality – is the prize of exertion; the brave alone win it.  The life of man on earth is a warfare.  Either a soldier of virtue, with the hope of a Divine reward, or the slave of vice, under threat of Divine chastisement; there is nothing between.

Dear reader, I ask you not to which side your heart inclines.  You reject with horror the slavery of vice; you are a soldier of virtue, a soldier of duty, a soldier of God.  What is requisite for the soldier who would fain conquer? Courage.  Yes, but courage alone is not sufficient: prudence is also required.  Prudence demands that we apply ourselves to know our enemies, their relative strength, their tactics, the weapons they most dread – in a word, that we acquire that science, which, guiding courage, secures victory.  Now, a voice which commands the attention even of those who, unhappily, ignore the infallible voice of God, the voice of Christianity, clearly indicates the several enemies of our souls.  “Often,” it tells us, “you will find in yourselves, in human society, and even in the material world, incitements to infringe on duty.” But the principal sower of evil here below, the tempter most formidable, because the most skillful and the most active, is the reprobate spirit whom popular language, following the Gospel, calls the Devil; that is, the divider, the overthrower, the disperser, the destroyer.  This great adversary once put to flight, the combat is mere play; if, on the other hand, he prevails, all is lost.  He has made innumerable victims.  You, yourself, shall one day increase the sad list, if you neglect the arms which Jesus Christ and His Church have prepared for you.   By Jesus Christ you can resist, overcome, escape the gloomy kingdom of Satan, and receive, in heaven, the conqueror’s palm.  Away from Jesus Christ, you are the sure prey of Satan.

Such is Catholic teaching.  It sufficiently indicates that the question of the Devil is not only a curious question, but a practical question of the greatest importance.”

But in addition to the above quote we must remember the sentiment in the quote below from later in the book:

“    The present life is a conflict that lasts from dawn to night.  What ever may be the number of his victories, the just man may still fall, if he cease to struggle; whatever may be the number of his defeats, the sinner may rise again, if, from the depth of his misery, he cries to God, his support.  For death comes at last.  And then? . . . Then? Say those spirits who, for some years, come so willingly to chat with the curious who listen to them – then? People shall begin a new life in a new sphere, where they shall be lodged according to their previous merits: and from that new hostelry, they shall pass on, by a new death, indefinitely to another.  That if one sometimes turn away from God by disobedience, he need not be very much troubled, because Our Creator let us do what we may, must and will give us felicity. Those spirits know well what they are about. To say that evil shall remain unpunished, would be too much; it would horrify men!  To say that the punishment shall be light and easy, is all that is necessary to make mankind, never much afraid of any purgatory whatsoever – putting off to some one of those numerous existences promised to it, the fulfilment of God’s commandments – always answer those who preach virtue: “To-morrow, to-morrow,.”.

Christianity, that teaching brought from heaven by a God, and attested by so many prophecies and miracles; Christianity, which, by the splendor of the proof of all kinds which it brought in support of the truth, made itself acceptable, in spite of the sacrifices it requires, by the Pagan and by the barbarian world;  Christianity, which has withstood eighteen centuries of attack;  Christianity, in which we must believe, if we believe in anything – Christianity maintains, against this renewal of the errors of India, of Pythagoras, the decree of the Apostle: “it is appointed for men once to die, and after this the judgement.” (Heb., 9:27).

God does not permit men to mock Him and imitate the scholar who says: “My master will punish me, I know; but, no matter, I am going to carry out my own notion; punishment will come after, and when it is over, I shall have got the better of the master; I shall have done my own will, and, in spite of his punishment, I shall have been the strongest.”  The faculty of disobeying God, that is to say, of doing under the eyes of God, and with the power we hold from God, that which God forbids, is granted to intelligent beings for a time, in order that trial may be made, and merit acquired; but this astonishing position is not to last always; war between the Creator and the creature is not the normal state of creation.  After having regarded the contest for some time, God says: “It is enough.” And death goes in search of the combatants, whom it brings before His judgement-seat.  There, each one is judged and introduced into the house of his eternity.

What does the victorious Christian find in that house of eternity? A glory and a bliss which he shall enjoy in assured peace.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith: to him that overcometh, I will give to eat of the tree of life which is in the paradise of my God.  Behold, the Devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried.  Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.  To him that over cometh , I will give the hidden manna, a new name which no man knoweth, but he that receiveth it.  .  .  .He that shall over come, shall be clothed in white garments, and I will confess his name before my father and before His angels.  .  .  . He that shall overcome, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more.  .  .  . To him that shall overcome, I will grant to sit with me in my throne.” (Apoc., II and III)

God , whose infinite power is equaled by His infinite generosity, will not be sparing in the reward of the man who shall have fought the good fight;  Himself will be the eternal joy of His faithful servant.

But what shall happen to him whom death shall surprise loaded with the chains of Satan, become through malice of through cowardice, the companion and slave of the revolted spirits?  In vain will he allege the strength of his enemies.  He had been enrolled under the banner of an ever-victorious Chief.  An Apostle had told him: “Be subject to God, but resist the Devil, and he will fly from you.”  (St. James, 4:7) Another Apostle had warned him that the sting of Satan must be opposed by the grace of Jesus Christ.  (2 Cor., 12:7,9) It was sufficient for him to look around him and consider the just in their ways to know that a Liberator exists. He proffered the shame of a slothful bondage to the hardships of the fight.  That which he chose of his own free will is now imposed upon him; he shall remain far form the God he has forsaken, far from the courageous soldiers of the Lord from whom he separated; he shall be banished to the lowest depths of creation with the masters he has preferred, because they favored his passions, to the God who, for him, died on a cross.  There is the future of the willfully conquered.

And, in the lapse of ages an hour will come – the last – when all creation shall be summoned to hear the judgement of every creature pronounced.  Then the Man-God shall appear surrounded by HIs faithful angels, and He shall say to the victorious: “Cone, ye blessed of my Father, possess the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world.”  And to the conquered: “Go, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his angels.” Immediately, the last separation shall take place: the victors shall go into “life everlasting,” the conquered into “everlasting punishment.” (St. Matth., 25.)

Thenceforward, no more combatants; but the just rewarded and the wicked punished.  The triumph of good over evil will be final, complete, eternal.”

The advice at the end of the book ends with the admonition to avoid things like seances, Ouija boards and trying to contact unknown spirits to elicit their help. Talking to spirits of saints and good angels such as Saint Micheal and your guardian angel are of course okay. But contacting unknown others for power and trying to benefit from witch craft is a door into the realm of demons which one should avoid at all costs. Do not be like Adam and Eve wishing the complete knowledge of good and evil, it will result in no good to you. In addition, before that, in the realm of everyday problems from the devil that menace us all on earth the author has this final advice:

“     Now, dear readers, we must conclude,  The misfortune of most men is that they know not how to conclude.  They hear a discourse, they read a book, and go to their business, or their pleasures without having asked themselves: “What is the result of this in relation to my personal conduct?  What is the warning that Providence now gives me?”

The question of the Devil is not one of mere curiosity.  The question is of a living enemy, powerful, present, dangerous, furious.  You are reminded that he has caused the terrible, irremediable ruin of a multitude of your fellow -beings.  You are warned, in particular, to avoid dark associations, inspired by him, mysterious operations, of which he himself (as often as jugglery is not the sole mover) is the invisible agent.

When flight is impossible, fight.  Avoid more carefully even those trivial faults which make the Devil bolder and stronger against you; avoid, especially, mortal sin, which would deliver your soul to him.  Never sleep, if you possibly can, in the captivity of Saten.  Be on your guard against the love of riches, which fills his nets; the love of pleasure, which leads to idolatry; and pride, the father of all errors.  Grieve not the Spirit of God.  Watch, pray. Soon you shall repose in the triumphant peace of heaven.” The name of the book this is quoted from is “The Devil: Does He Exist? And What Does He Do?” By Father Delaporte and is published by Tan books and publishers, Inc. Rockford, Illinois 61105 copyright 1982.

  • Books on the Sacraments

There are so many books on the sacraments because of their importance to the religion – Roman Catholicism.  They impart sanctifying grace, the actual life of God Himself.  For this reason I am only citing 4 books or sets of books, one with complete technical detail for the clergy (Deacons, sisters, priest bishops etc.) and those wishing to learn about the sacraments in detail possibly for Ph.d studies, a second more concise technical book that is suitable for the laity who desire a more in depth look into the principles of sacramental Theology, one for the laity, and one for children. One of the most technically detailed and evidently precises series of books covering all the sacraments appear to be those by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Pohle, Ph.D., D.D.  It was produced up to a Sixth Revised Edition, for some volumes, by B. Herder Book Co.  The books are called “The Sacraments” (Vol. 1-4) and are specifically, with the identifiers being for the latest reprints and the approbations being from the originals:

  • Interesting Health Information on Nitrous Oxide in a Popular Book

I am not a doctor (so don’t take this as medical advice but a call to read a book by an independent health researcher and do your own research) but so much has been coming out lately on Nitrous Oxide (NO) and how it is good for everything from lowering blood pressure to increasing male libido. Like the whole “you need to take a COVID shot” turned out to be a hoax (for at least people below the age of 29), there is a contrary argument that says NO may be an oxidant which causes cell damage, if overdone.  A book entitled “The Ultimate Guide to Methylene Blue” by Mark Sloane suggested to me by a real doctor (general practitioner M.D. type) at my parish, argues the natural and best vasodilator is carbon dioxide (CO2) which tends to build up during moderate exercise, and after moderate exercise I have found my blood pressure to go down and seem to have no problems in other areas NO is said to be helpful in, given that I run almost every other day. The identification information below is for the paperback book but it is also available in audio book and kindle editions.

  • The Bible and Books on It

In my opinion the best bible printed, for precisely as language will allow, is of course the Latin Vulgate. But if you have not study Latin in school the best English Language alternative is the “Douay-Rheims & Clementina Vulgate (English and Latin Edition),” so you can see the Latin and possibly get clarification of a meaning given a particular bible verse.

The Douay-Rheims bible itself, as I understand, unlike many other bibles, is public domain, which basically means, as I understand but am not a lawyer, you can quote without attribution and not get sued by anyone, but it is always best and honest police to cite any quotes you make.  This, “public domain” of course does not cover any preface or pictures or maps etc. that are in addition to the original text.

Next is an argument, “The Bible is a Catholic Book,” (which is the title of this book) that should be self-evident with the use of logic since a council of the Catholic church chose the “authorized books” of New Testament, they should have the authority if not the expertise, being that they were given the power by Jesus Christ (when he said in Matthew 28:18-20:  “ . . . All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever. I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.”) to know which books of the Old Testament literature best and authoritatively support the New Testament and Christ’s plan for it. This again being a more recent book carries no official approbations.  It is also available as an ebook and an audio book.
