During last lent, I wrote a post that said I would give the complete identification and approbations for the book I obtained the information on receiving benefit from the stations if unable to attend at your parish. That book is the first of this list and is entitled: “A Manual of Pastoral Theology: A practical Guide for Ecclesiastical Students and Newly Ordained Priests” by Rev. Frederick Schulze, D.D. published by B. Herder Book Co., St. Louis MO, copyright 1923, Fifth Printing 1954 with a library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 23-8326. Below are the approbations for the above and the information on a recent reprint of this, evidently, now a public domain work, assumably because of its age and the fact that it has outlived its copyright.

The next is for priests who want to put an emphasis on the transmission of catholic theology (the Catechism) for the laity from the pulpit. This book is entitled “Catholic Theology or The Catechism Explained” by Rev. D. I. Lanslots, O.S.B. and which the original was available on amazon. As of this writing it was not nor was it available at Abe books, my other “go to” for older books.

The next reference is entitled a “Pulpit Commentary on Catholic Teaching” Which is a compilation of commentaries by catholic priests on various subjects in 4 volumes under 4 main subject areas: 1) the Creed, 2) the Commandments, 3) the Means of Grace, and 4) the Liturgy of the Ecclesiastical Year. Each entry is preceded by a synopsis which summarizes that particular “essay.” I only have the first volume on the Creed which I think I got from a free book give away at my parish of, I think, a priest that was retiring. Joseph F. Wagner, New York holds the copyright. The approbations of the first book, which one may assume is the same in the rest are as follows:
Nihil Obstat: Remigius Lafort, S.T.L.

Imprimatur: +John M. Farley, D.D.

The final reference is “Sermon Plans: Being Four Outlines of Sermons Chiefly on the Epistles and Gospels for Each Sunday and Holiday of the Year” by the Very Reverend Canon George Howe, originally published by Templegate, Springfield, ILLINOIS, the following information to order it is for a recent reprint but the approbations are from my 1956 edition first published in 1904. It is arrainged by each Sunday of the year.
