Books for traditional Catholic Priests for Inspiration and Clarity on Their Vocation

Though this first book was translated evidently around 1971 by Rev. Patrick O’Connell, D.D. it was first written in Italian by St. Joseph Cafasso and first published in 1947. My copy was published in 1971 by Tan Books, Rockford IL. The title says it all: “The Priest the Man of God: His Dignity and His Duties,” by St. Joseph Cafasso.  The information below is for a current reprint by the same publisher. The approbations are from my 1971 copy.

For priests who want a quick clear 190 page guide in laymen’s terms from a priest from the 50’s in the United States, when I feel priest’s in America were possibly the best they have been, those priests likely having lived through both the depression and at least one world war, the book “Tenders of the Flock” is a good book for them.
