DVD Movie review of Saint Rita from Ignatius Press

        This is a movie highlighting the life of Saint Rita of Cascia. She was married to a man in the 14^th century who was part of a waring family in Italy. They had 2 children together. The war was between clans in the city of Cascia. It was an entertaining movie showing how persevering love can heal a family and make peace in a conflict. Reviews say some of the facts of her early life shown in the movie were not factual. This film was not rated though there was no nudity but there were some violent scenes where some people were stabbed or run through in sword fights. The movie was made in 2004 and starred Vittoria Belvedere in the lead role. There is a documentary called Saint Rita of Cascia: the true Story, also by Ignatius Press, which reveals all the true facts with regard to this saint but I have not seen it.
