I thought Gran Turismo, I thought, was a great movie, to show, if you are serious about your dreams and have perseverance and a backbone you can do most anything you want (if you are or can become physically and mentally up to it). Be warned it has a PG-13 rating for “intense action and some strong language” according to google. It is based on a true story and there is no nudity.
This is not for children who like to make excuses or actually justify lazy behavior and are not serious about really doing something with their life. In this movie the main characters father appears to love him very much but wants him to face reality that he is likely to have a minimum wage job. His father was evidently once was a contender in a sport like soccer but was unable to make the big time. This is something children should think about, to inspire them, if either of their parents were good at something or exceptional for some reason, they have the ability for greatness also. They should not be intimidated by either their parent’s accomplishments or discouraged by their failures but be willing to work hard for their dreams. Personally, my father always teased me that I would grow up to be a garbage man which might damage some children, but some like me and the main character in this movie made them want to prove their parents wrong. But you have to know your child. I think I succeeded in life, so, my dad’s strategy worked in my case.
Haunted Mansion I would personally avoid as well as avoid letting any children/grandchildren, I might have, watch it. It basically ridiculed Catholic priests and the recorded fact that exorcisms actually happen and work. It touts the use of mediums and psychics, which if they manifest any power at all is either the result of subterfuge or collaboration with demons. The fact that you can actually collaborate with demons (which is what witchcraft is) is a concept that is dangerous, to say the least (as you could lose your immortal soul doing it) and why, as I understand, the Catholic church was against the allowance of young children reading/watching the Harry Potter series. This movie “according to Common Sense Media, . . . is rated PG-13 for violence, frightening scenes, supernatural elements such as dark magic and the appearance of a Ouija board and some alcohol use.”
