Movie Review of the Sound of Freedom

There has been a lot of buzz lately about the movie “Sound of Freedom,” which relates the true story of the destruction of a sex trafficking ring and the rescue of two young children trapped and abused by this evil.  In my opinion the kudos it has been given has been well deserved and people should watch it to both support Angel Studios (famous for religious themed movies such as “The Chosen” in 2017, “His Only Son” in 2023 and the upcoming movie “Cabrini” which is as I understand is the true story about a Catholic nun who started parochial schools in the US) who produced it and to become more informed on the scope of about 27% of the last shadowy, though still large, vestige of slavery in the world today. More than 10 million adults and nearly 4 million children (which is the part of Trafficking which this movie addresses) are used for labor and sex trafficking.  Though this movie is about child sex trafficking there is no explicit sexual content but what is happening is unambiguously implied to any adult of average intelligence that pays attention to what is being said. There is one scene at the end of the movie dealing with explicit violence but it takes place in the dark and is very hard to see exactly what is going on in that knife fight.

There is an appeal, as I remember, about 3 minutes into the end credits which you should stick around for. See the movie on the big screen, and despite the small budget, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
